Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
ticket for failure to move over
I was ticketed for failure to move over by an officer who was sitting on the side of the road with his lights on . It felt like a sting. Should I go to court and fight this?

Re: ticket for failure to move over
You question does not specify an offense. What were you ticketed for exactly (it should appear on the ticket(s) with a corresponding Statute citation)? Is it a failure to yield to emergency vehicle? If so, you will need to show that the police or emergency vehicles were not using sirens or flashing lights. If ligts and sirens were used, you would need to pull to the right-hand edge of the roadway and stop, if necessary without blocking an intersection. Feel free to email me to discuss.
