Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
Traffic accident, What are my rights and how should I proceed?
On Jan. 31, 2002 I was involved in an auto accident, imact broke my wheel off causing my car ro slide into a ditch and hit a pole resulting in significant damage to my car and required I be taken by ambulance to a hospital. I learned a few days later that the driver of the other car was found to be 90% at fault for causing the accident. She turned into my vehicle as I was passing through an intersection where the light had just turned from green to yellow. There was a witness who saw and confirmed the light change.
At the hospital I initially complained of a sore chest because of the imact was absorbed by my seat belt but later when I went for an x-ray felt pain in my back, which persisted todate.I've been taking pain pills and other med., perscribed at the hospital, to help with the discomfort. I did return to work the following work day.
What is the best way to handle this accident? My car was only 6 weeks new and was estimated to have over $15,000 in damage. Now I'm seriously comcerned I won't be treated fairly by the insurance companies, and I don't no my rights! Can you please advise on how I should proceed?

Proceed directly to an attorney who has significant experience in litigating small/medium personal injury cases. You have a statute of limitations clock that is running.
