Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

Traffic court

I was issued a ticket for reckless driving in Cook County Illinois by a Tinley Park Illinois officer and I am unsure of what my options and consequences are if I plead guilty and what they would be if I plead not-guilty.

Re: Traffic court

Well, if you plead guilty, you are going to accumulate a lot of "points" that will most probably result in the suspension of your driving privileges. If the police have you nailed to the wall, and you depend on having a driving license for your livelihood, I would strongly suggest that you go to court with a lawyer. Depending on your driving record, you could probably qualify for court supervision. If you would like to discuss this further, let me know.

A reckless driving ticket is a Class A misdemeanor. It carries a possible penalty of up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $2500. You should not proceed on this matter without an attorney. We go to both the Bridgeview and Markham courthouses on a regular basis. For more about our firm, please visit http://www.shestokas.com/ . Whether you choose us to represent you or not, you need an attorney.
