Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

Traffic Ticket

My 17 year old daughter was isssued a ticket for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. The issuing officer failed to get her signature on the ticket in the compliance box. Does this render the ticket invalid.

Re: Traffic Ticket

No. The defendant's signature is usually only an indication by the defendant that he or she will appear in court. In your daughter's case, she should hire an attorney to assist her in either defending the charge or arranging a plea bargain under which she would be placed on "supervision" and thus avoid taking a conviction.
