Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
Traffic/Moving Violation
I received a traffic ticket for ''failure to yield the rightaway'' when I made a left turn on a green light with an oncoming police car coming from the other direction. I had more than ample time to turn left but the officer stated he was cut off. When I questioned the officer on what I did wrong, his reply was to argue my point in court. I feel my left turn was legal but not sure if a judge will side with me if it is his word against mine. I don't want to pay the $115 fine since I feel I was not at fault, but may have a hard time fighting this without legal advise. Any help ?

Re: Traffic/Moving Violation
If you try this case in Court, the Judge will probably believe the cop instead of believing you. However, if you hrie an attorney to negotiate a plea bargain with the state's attorny, you may still avoid the conviction by paying some money and staying out of trouble for a few months. The money you spend onthe attorney and the fines and costs will be well worth it.
