getting a new trial

i was ticketed for driving with no insurance.i was unaware my policy was expired.i was just going to pay the ticket, which was supposed to be $75 so i did not go to the first trial.they set a second trial date that i was going to attend because i was told if i showed proof of insurance now, which i acquired 2 weeks after being ticketed once i figured out why i was cancelled or whatever, i would not have to pay the ticket.i missed that court date because the courthouse is over an hour away and my daughter was very ill.i called to try to just pay the ticket a couple days later and they told me that it was now $705 and my license was suspeneded till i paid in full.i cannot afford that amount of money, or to have my license suspended.i would like to have this either reentered into court or dropped completley since i was unaware i was not insured and that i did get insurance once i realized i was not. do i file a motion to vacate, a motion to vacate default judgement,a motion to reconsider, or a motion for a new trial?

depending on the state, Illinois or Indiana, It is possible to get the ticket back into court. You can probably get them back into court in both states, but the procedures can be different.
