Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
Does my underage drinking ticket effect my traffic ticket?
Three years ago I received a ticket for posession of alcohol by a minor. To erase that ticket from my record I worked with the police as a ''nark''. I was supposed to do 5 sessions and only completed 3. I was never able to get in contact with the officer that I worked out this deal with to figure out what to do to complete the last 2. I assumed that it had been taken care of. Now I have received a silly traffic violation for going the wrong way down an alley. The officer told me that I just had to go to court and plead guilty to receive supervision and the ticket would not go on my record. What will happen to me if this old drinking ticket is still on my record? Will I simply have to pay a fine? Will I lose my license? What are my options?
