Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
Hello! My wife and I decided years ago that if we ever had children that we would not get Social Security numbers for them because of religious reasons.
We live in Illinois and the state requires a SS number to apply for a drivers license, UNLESS, you fill out a Social Security Exemption Form. Problem is, if the state of IL does not recognize your "religious" group, they will not grant you the exemption.
My question is; Can the state prevent you from obtaining a drivers license without a SS number? Can the state discriminate by only allowing certain religious groups to obtain a license without the SS number?
Thank You!

This would be more of a Constitutional law/Civil Rights issue.
I would advise contacting Illinois Legal Aid or looking for a Civil Right attorney online in Illinois.
