Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
Children rights of the deceased parent
In the case against R.R Donnelly, my mother was a original member of the group who file a lawsuit against them based on discrimination. This case was just settle in court, so me having powers of estate, can I claimed her settlement award of $25,000 that she would have received if she was still alive.

The $25,000 is due to your mother's estate. It would be distributed according to her will. If she died without a will it would be distributed as per the laws of intestacy of the state of Illinois.
