Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

contesting will

If someone was named in a previous will but is not named in the updated one, do they have a chance of contesting it? They have a copy of the original will in which they were named. Does that help their case in contesting it?

Re: contesting will

Yes, a person named in the prior Will would have standing to contest the later Will. The earlier original Will should be filed with the clerk of court so that the court has it of record.
