My mother has passed away and she has a bank account where I am not written on , as a beneficiary can I access that account for bills that are hers. If I have checks she signed before she died.

Re: death benefits

If you are indeed the beneficiary it would be better to just get that account liquidated and given to you...questions could arise if you're using her account post-death. Ask the bank? If that's all that is in her estate the bank likely will only require a document called a small estate affidavit. This is a legal document where there's less than $100k in personal property.
