Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

My disabled father passed away in April 2009. My brother (who lives in Colorado) and I are the only heirs. I moved to Illinois to be dad's permanent care-giver from 2004 until his death in 2009. I invested thousands of dollars in maintaining the household, including bringing it up to local codes. My brother has been pressuring me to sell the house regardless of my personal and financial involvement. Do I have any legal rights to stay in the house until I decide to sell it? (This entire estate may be worth $75,000)

It seems that even if you are not on the title of the house, you should have some claim for reimbursement for what you contributed.

I would recommend that you speak with an attorney to discuss how to proceed.
