Dispute Over Husbands Ashes

My husband passed away 2 years ago and was cremated. He did not have a will. My ex-step daughter who works for an attorney had him send me a letter demanding that I make arrangements to deliver the ashes to her within 14 days or they would take further action. Can they actually do anything?

Re: Dispute Over Husbands Ashes

Recognize the principle that anyone can sue anyone over anything. Whether they'll prevail is something else.

So they *could* start an action.

With that preliminary, I don't see the rights of the child prevailing over those of the spouse.
