Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
Dower Rights
If my husband predeceases me what rights do I have with respect to our home which is in his sole name? Can he leave it to his daughter (from a previous marriage). Do I have any rights?

Re: Dower Rights
You do have rights regarding his estate. If he leaves you nothing, then you can demand a 1/3 spousal award available under law that supercedes your husbands will.
