Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
Estate
My mother, aunt and uncle inherited a house from my grandmother. The house was never transferred out of my grandmother name. It is still registered in her name at the St Clair County Court Hous in Belleville IL. My uncle passed away last year and my mother and aunt want to sell the house. My uncle has three heirs. My mother and aunt cannot locate two of the three. Are my uncle's heirs due his one third of proceeds from sale of house. The estate was settled. Can my mother and aunt legally sell the house?
