Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Estate of mother

My mother passed away July 2007,she was on IL Medicaid and in a nursing home, when she went to the nursing home we sign over her Met Life insurance to the funeral home there is stock with Met Life Ins. the state of IL is saying this stock whould be transfer over to them. Is this true and is there a time limit after a person death to claim this?

Medicaid is imposing the estate recovery rules. You should have this looked at by an attorney who specializes in Elder Law.
