Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
Estates
If myself and sister were left a house and to equally share the contents 50/50, yet a reverse mortgage was done my the stepmother, so we are losing the house. They are trying to get us to do a quit claim deed, We are not doing that. Our father owned a family business for 50+years. There are MANY personal records within the residence. The bus was sold to Olin Brass/Equipment , and the company name. Are we both allowed to be in the residence to shred all personal and business related documents, including employees socials , my parents socials etc. before its foreclosed on. My sister and I want to do this together. We do not want this info in the wrong hands. The will states all property is ours. There is an estate laywer who the administrator tried to relieve in Jan, and we just want some guidance before we get to Illinois.

Re: Estates
just get some movers and move the stuff out before the foreclosure is over
Re: Estates
You have a right to the personal property that is in the house, even if the house is being foreclosed. You should obtain the assistance of a local attorney (or the estate's attorney, if he is willing to assist) in order to gain access to the house.
Good luck to you.
