My father has paid the insurance monthly since she passed away but he failed to place the insurance in his name. He had a break in where there was alot of valuables taken , the insurance company sent a check for the missing items but he is unable to deposit it in his account due to him not having this letter. what can i do about this.

Re: Executor of estate

I assume that the check was made out to your grandmother? If so, did your grandmother ever execute a power of attorney allowing your father to make bank transactions on her behalf. If so, that would be helpful. If not, the bank will probably want a letter from an attorney along with some proof that your father is the true legal executor. Perhaps there was a court judgment granting to your father executorship of the estate. Please call or e-mail me and I will be happy to assist.
