executor fee on estate

I am the executor of my mothers' estate. We are finalizing soon the estate. I would like to know the average fee I should charge the estate for my expenses and time. An average percentage is what I am looking for.

First,why aren't you asking the attorney for the estate? Do yo have a problem with him/her? Second, you really haven't provided enough information to make a judgement. It all depends on your responsiblity. How large was the Estate? Was a Federal Estate Tax Return filed? What,if any problems arose, generally. Was it routine. Were claims filed. A lot goes into determining the Executor's fee, as well, by the way, the attorney's fees.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific. There is no percentage that can be applied to the value of the estate to determine a fee.
