Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

executor (sister) using power for personal vendetta

HELP!!! was not provided copy of will and trust as other siblings were from the onset. when i asked for copies(8 mo. later after some distributions were made) i was referred to the lawyer. lawyer wouldn't return my calls, so I hired a lawyer to get copies. it took my lawyer 6 mos. to get copies from lawyer for the estate. can i pursue executors to reinburse me legal fees (outta pocket)? Also personal property was distributed to family and i was not notified. do i have any legal avenues to pursue for improper handeling of the estate, for this power trip my sister is on, and using her executorship for revenge or a personal vendetta?

Re: executor (sister) using power for personal vendetta

Since you are (or were) working with a lawyer, the best way to obtain the information you are seeking is to have your lawyer find out if a probate estate was opened.

If you are talking about the estate of a parent (since you referred to your siblings inheriting I'm assuming this may be the case), then you would be an interested party. If there has not been an estate opened, you may be able to do it.

You will need to confer with your attorney to see whether or not there are any time bars that have already passed.

Good luck to you.
