Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
Executor of will
When our son and daughter were under age, we had a will drawn up by an attorney and designated my sister as executor of our will in the event something happened to both of us. Our children are now in their forty's and we would like to know if we can change the executor to be our daughter in the event we were no longer here. Can we do this by simply attaching a statement to our existing will without an attorney? Thank you.

Re: Executor of will
A will can be amended by a codicil, however, there are still requirements which must be met in order for your change to be effective. It would be best if you contacted an attorney to assist you.
