Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
I am an executor of a will that was not witnessed. Is this will legal and can I decline executorship. He lived in Calif.

In Illinois, a Will must be witnessed by 2 persons in order to be valid.
Also, even if the Will was valid, you can always decline to act as executor. You may be asked to sign a document that states your declination.
