Family Agreement
In 2006 my brother and I hired a attorney to write a settlement agreement in regards to real estate property at the rerqust of my stepmother. she also did my brothers and my wills and trusts. The real estate agreement was between my brother,step mother and my self. Then the same lawyer went and wrote a will and trust for my step mother. Here is my problem... Now my step mother is backing out on the real estate agreement and has hired a lawyer (after over 1 year) threating a law suit. We had to hire another lawyer costing us over $8000.00 because our original lawyer said she could not represent us because she did work for my strep mother. Is our original lawyer not responsible in some way?

No. There is a conflict of interest if she takes your case against your step-mother. She represented her as well.

No way can she represent you or her in this matter. Find a different attorney.
