Filing estate in probate

I wanted to know if there is a time limit from the time someone dies without will to file it with the probate division. Does an estate have to be opened within' a

specific time frame from when the person has died

Anyone in possession of a will of a person who died must file it with the clerk of the court within 30 days of the death of the decedent. There is no time limit to open an estate, however.
