Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Filing a Small Estate Affidavit without hiring an attorney

I have obtained the small estate affidavit form and I would like to know the process involved for filing it into my local court system without hiring an attorney. The estate in question is within the limits of the small estate provision and the family has agreed on who is to be the executor of the estate. The deceased left no will. Any information on this is appreciated. Thank You.

I do not beleive the attorney provision in the form is optional, you should call around and check prices for attorney services, it is rather routine, Small estates affidavits do not get filed with the court .
