Call attorneys to ask them about the probate process and how it works. Ask them how they bill. Ask whatever other questions you may have. Also consider whether their practice is focused on trusts and estates.

I handle probate cases for Cook, Lake, McHenry and Dupage. Feel free go give me a call to discuss. I also have information on probate and estates on our website at www.illinoisestateplan.com.

Here are three good referral sites:

http://www.illinoislawyerfinder.com/search.html

When reviewing the attorney's biography on his/her website, does he/she seem to focus in probate estates? If that first hurdle is met, then your initial conversations will be critical to determining whether that attorney is right for you. Can he/she adequately answer your questions in a manner that YOU can understand? Does the attorney regularly handle contested estates like yours? (Many attorneys handle estates, few work with estates that are "contested" involve litigation.) Do proposed hourly rates seem reasonable?

I am confident that I could address each of these concerns and many more involving a contested estate. Feel free to call me for a free consultation.
