grandfather ill
my grandfather is really ill i live in louisiana and he lives in rockford, il. he does not have much money but the does own house. he fell a few days ago and is in rehab but will most likely not recover. he is a vet and is collecting S S and i am names POA. I just do not know what steps to talk and can he get assit. form goverment for nursing home cost with out selling the house.

It is likely that he is currently on Medicare. You will need to find out how long his insurance (either Medicare or other policy) will pay for his healthcare costs for rehab, and perhaps a nursing home.
You should contact an attorney in the Rockford area to assist you with your long-distance responsibilities. Rockford is in Winnebago County. They should have an attorney referral service through their Bar Association.
