Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
My great-grandfather died in 2010. The only people that know what's on it are my grandparents and my uncle (grandmother's brother). The will is not on public record. Is there any way to find out what was on the will?

The will is required to be filed within 30 days with the circuit court clerk for the county in which your great-grandfather lived. Failure to file can carry criminal penalties. If that needs to be conveyed, hire an attorney to send a letter. If there was also a trust, however, then it may be possibleto keep the terms private.
