Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Can an individual complete the process of contesting a will without a lawyer.

The will has already been admitted

and the probate process started. I

started the process with another

lawyer but have run out of money. Will a lawyer work on this type of

case pro bono in exchange for portion

of recovered funds? I started the

process with another lawyer

Yes, an individual can contest a will without hiring an attorney. Unless you have a fair amount of expertise, it is unlikely you will be successful.

Pro bono generally means work done for free for those unable to afford to pay. You are actually asking if an attorney would take this case on a contingency basis. That would depend on the attorney--I am sure you could find an attorney who would.
