Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

inheritance

If only one child was named in a will. Are the other legal children eligible for inheritance? My father passed away and only named my younger half brother in his will. The will was notarized on some form. What are the proceedures that one can take? Are the other childern eligible for inheritance of property? Does one protest the will?

Re: inheritance

A person by law can leave property to only

one of his/her children. If it can be shown that

the person was not of sound mind at the time

he made the will, a court of law can declare

the will void. The law in Illinois outlines

how property will be dispersed where the decedent

left no will. I will be happy to answer any more

questions that you might have.
