Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Inheritance Rights of Reunited Adoptees

I gave birth to a son as a teen over 30 years ago. I voluntarily terminated my parental rights and he was immediately adopted in a closed adoption through Catholic Charities. We are currently reunited for 10 years. In a situation like this, does this son have a legal claim to my estate? I have other children that I have raised as well.

Re: Inheritance Rights of Reunited Adoptees

The adoption terminated all legal relationship.

If you wish you can voluntarily include him as a beneficiary under your will.
