Does a joint living trust in Illinois need to be witnessed and signed by a Notary Public?

Probably not. There are bigger issues, however, which would make consulting an attorney a really good idea. Even with a trust, a will is needed as part of the estate planning documentation.

In addition to the first answer, it is a good idea to discuss the pros and cons of creating a joint trust since illinois is not a community property state.
