i want to leave certain pieces of jewerly to family members when i die. can i make a copy of list bring to currency and have it noterized would that be legal and binding?

No. Testamentary dispositions of property must be conform to the requirements for a valid will (including two witnesses).

No. There are many ways to leave property at death. But making a list and signing your name isn't one of them.
When it comes to tangible personal property there are basically two efficient ways: a propertly executed and witnessed will, and a properly funded living trust.
