Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

My legal residence, which I own, is in Ilinois in joint ownership. I have a second house in Wisconsin where I am the sole owner. I am single with no children. If I write a will with IL as my legal residence and leave my WI house to relative, does Wisconsin recoginize this as legal or do I need a will in WI also? Thank you.

You only need one Will. As long as your Will is valid where written, it will be valid in other states as well. However, real property in your sole name in a state other than your domicile may require probate administration in multiple states and increase legal fees for administration after your death.
