Is a life insurance policy part of an estate that is being contested by a wife not named in will

If the life insurance is payable to a beneficiary other than the estate, then it usually is not part of the estate. It is not controlled by the will and probate case. If the policy was payable to the estate or does not have a valid beneficiary, then the proceeds would become part of the estate. Review all matters with your attorney.
