life insurance policy and no will bene

I m in the state of IL. I have a sister that has passed away. We have gotten a lawyer due to the fact she didn't have a will drawn up. The estate is in probabte right now. There was a life insurance policy that stated my mother as the benefactor. Since my mother is now deceased also, lawyer said that will money will go toward the estate. I just found out there is another insurance policy with my name on it. Since there is no will but I m named the benefactor on this insurance policy, does that money belong to me or also go into the estate?
