Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
I live in Illinois and I would like my son, who is living in North Carolina, to be executor of my will. Can he live out of Illinois and still be my executor. Also does all your assets that are not in a trust have to go through probate or is there a dollar amount that will not go through probate. If this is true what is the dollar amount that will or won't go through probate.

You may have an executor who lives outside of the state. If you have an estate valued at less than $100,000, you may be able to administer it using a Small Estate Affidavit.
Drafting a will is one "kids, don't try this at home" kind of endeavor--you really need to talk about your issues with an attorney that is working for you. Your very good questions will be answered based on your particular facts and circumstances so you will be sure to obtain results which will be helpful to you,
