Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
My mother died June 10,2010. My sister was appointed Ex of her estate. Everything was posted and paid, due to end on Jan 19.2011.But we had some issues with one of my sisters and money she had and a lien on her. That was all settled on July28,2011.We had two lawyers one for the filings and one to fight my sister. The first layer said , he is sick and can't finish it so he handed it over to the secpond and told us he will handle it.For nine weeks now the lawyer won;t answer our calls or emails. We don't know what to do?

If this is your lawyer and he won't respond to you, you might choose to discharge that lawyer and hire a new one to move forward.
I agree with Jeff. If the second lawyer will not respond to you, hire a new one. The new lawyer will send a letter to the old lawyer which alerts him that he must stop billing on the file. Feel free to call me for a free consultation.
Alternatively, if this estate involves little money, you can have one of your family members show up at Court on the next Court date and take your greviance directly to the Judge. That might shame the attorney into being more responsive to you. If you contact me, I might be able to find out when that date is (depending on the county).
