Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

my mother passed in 2013. My brother was the executor of her will. We never received a copy of the will. Her home was sold and the money was divided between her 4 children. Now we are questioning where all the money in her accounts went and if our signature was forged. Can we do anything? I am going tomorrow to get a copy of her will at the courthouse. We all thought he was honest and we are now questioning some of the things that are missing .

Begin with what you are already in the process of doing, getting the will (and I suggest having the entire court probate file copied if applicable and not too extensive). If the home was sold without probate, then there may be less of a record available. If the estate went through probate, you would have either received notice of various proceedings or signed waivers. If you received and ignored notice or signed waivers, then your options will be more limited. In any event, consult with a local, well-recommended probate attorney once you have the available documentation.
