Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois
Do I have any obligation to sign over power of attorney for the sale of an estate property if I don't want to?

We would need more information to answer this question. With respect to whom did you have the power of attorney (POA)? If the POA was over the assets, person, etc. of the decedent (i.e., the person who passed away), that POA expired at that person's death. In that case, your POA would no longer be valid. If that's not the scenario, then I would need more information to correctly answer your question.
General rule of thumb: No one can force you to do anything that is by nature a voluntary act. However, you can be forced into action if a court issues an order. Based on your question, it's impossible to determine what your circumstances are. I suggest you speak with an attorney who can spend the time to learn your facts in order to properly advise you.
