personal property

Are vehicles considered personal property? My father died and my mothers attorney said that any personal property purchased during their marrage would become my mothers. I dont know if cars are personal propety however.

Anything that isn't real estate is considered personal property. Therefore, the car is personal property.

However, there is no legal rule that gives personal property to your mother even if she is the surviving spouse. That would depend on things too numerous to mention here.
