Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

power of attorney

My husband has the power of attorney to his grandfather, we live in Florida his grandfather is in Illinios. His grandfather just had a stroke and is in the hospital. Is there a way for my husband to give his aunt partial power of attorney for his grandfather without resinding his rights all together. His grandfathers lawyer said he has to resind his rights all together and then the court will give his aunt the power to take over his grandfathers affairs. Is there a way for my husband to stay power of attorney if he can not get to Illinois to take care of his grandfathers affairs. Does my husband have to lose all of his rights of being his grandfathers power of attorney. My husband just started a new job and there is no way for him to take off of work right now. What is the best way to handle this with his grandfathers best intrest?

Re: power of attorney

It depends on what the power of attorney document says. I would defer to your grandfather's attorney's opinion on this matter, since he or she has seen the document.
