Probate on wills

My father has a will. He lives in Illinois. Do all wills have to go in probate? How much does that cost and how long does it take?

All wills must be filed to prevent fraud. How much and how long depends on the division of property, any claims, challanges, size of estate, and number of heirs and or legatees. My practice is to charge by the hour. The executor must pay filing fees, court costs and legal fees from the estate. I require a retainer of $3,500.00, up front representing the first 20 hours of work. Please call for an appointment.
