Can a quit claim deed be filed after grantor is deceased in Illinois

If the grantor was alive when the dead was signed and deed was properly acknowledged, I don't see why not.

A proper deed can be recorded anytime, but the date of recording would be relevant to the rights of others who may not have known about it, who may have relied to their detriment on the record of title on file and had no knowledge of this deed.
