Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Recently I requested termination of independent administration of my mother 's estate. This was granted. The estate attorney withdrew from the case and the new attorney asked for the order be terminated and returned to independent administration. Can he legally do this?

Was it converted to supervised as a matter of right or based on good cause? If there is no will or if the will does not direct independent administration, then supervised is automatic upon demand. In that case, I can't see why it would be changed. If it's based on good cause, then I suppose the court could decide differently now.

It's unclear what role you play in the administration of the estate. If you are the executor or administrator, it would appear you should be able to direct the attorney's actions. If you are not the executor or administrator, you must have had a strong reason for seeking supervised administration, in which case you should oppose the motion to convert the administration to independent.
