Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Self Representation

I am looking for a Illinois law, rule, statute or something that will state or show that a person has the right to represent themself in a Probate heiring as a concerned party, who has a claim and does not want the Executor removed.

I want to be able to question the witnesses to prove my claim is legally valid

Re: Self Representation

Any person with a legal interest in an estate has a right to appear in person or through an attorney to protect his interest. Although it is possible to do this without an attorney, unless the claim is rather small, it would likely be of benefit to you to have an attorney represent you.

It isn't clear from your posting what kind of claim you are asserting, but Claims in general are addressed in the Illinois Probate Act. A reference librarian may be able to assist you in finding the law.

Good luck to you.
