Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

rights

As a beneficiary, is there any way for me to get a copy of a trust agreement, other than from the trustee. I believe there has been fraudulant behavior and do not feel comfortable going to the trustee.

What do I do if I believe fraud has been committed on the part of the trustee and the trust agreement was altered?

Re: rights

You can sue the trustee for an accounting and for court supervision of the administration of the trust. The judge presiding over the case will have the authority to order the production of documents to you. Or you can seek to get what you need from other beneficiaries. Before you do anything, however, you should ask for what you want from the trustee in writing. The trustee has an obligation to provide you with certain information. Call me if you want help.
