can they take away

If I were to become sick and require more hospital time then allowed by Medicare can they take my assests if they are in a living trust? I don't have supplemental insurance Thank you

Your assets have to be in a living trust for 5 years to be exempt from recapture by the government. Please check to see if your house was transfered into the living trust, and how long ago.
