Maybe, it depends. Talk to your attorney. Don't be greedy.
In my opinion, you should be able to charge and collect for your mileage for miles driven in the pursuit of tasks on behalf of the estate. You should also be entitled to compensation for your time applied in performing activities on behalf of the estate. Charging for travel time may or may not be reasonable under the circumstances. Payments to you are a first priority of administration, along with the attorney's fees, provided that the expenses relate to activities on behalf of the estate. If this case is court supervised, your expenses may be subject to challenges by the court. Furthermore, in the periodic or final accountings, the other heirs or legatees may second guess the reasonableness of what you are paid and raise objections. But basiscally, if you're working on activities necessary for the administration of the estate, you should be entitled to compensation and reimbursement.
