Should i sign a receipt and approval on closing of decedent's estate in independent administration before i receive my check?

The executor will require you to sign in before giving you your check. If you are receiving the right amount and don't have any other concerns, you should sign it. If you have any concerns with the amount you are receiving or anything else related to the administration of the estate, you should not sign the receipt until your concerns are addressed.
